# How Often Should You Clean Your Windows in San Jose?

Pollen, sprinkler overspray, and summer haze all work against South Bay glass. Here's the schedule we recommend for local homes.

The short answer for most San Jose homes is twice a year, with a lot of homeowners moving to quarterly once they see the difference. But frequency really depends on what your glass is up against, and in the South Bay that changes block by block.

## What Dirties South Bay Glass

Spring brings a heavy pollen load from oak and olive trees that bonds to glass once the first warm days hit. Summer adds dust from dry hillsides and any nearby construction. Then there is the biggest culprit of all: sprinkler overspray, which leaves mineral deposits that etch into glass if they sit long enough.

-   Near ongoing construction: every 2–3 months while work continues
